REVIVE US ONCE MORE LORD
Habakkuk 3:1-2 "A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet, on Shigionoth. 2 O Lord, I have heard Your speech and was afraid; O Lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of the years make it known; In wrath remember mercy.”
This verse may be paraphrased also to “O Yahweh, I have heard Your fame, and I bowed in reverent worship. O Yahweh, repeat Your doings of old in the midst of these current years of affliction; in the midst of these years of sorrow, demonstrate Your power; in wrath, remember mercy.”
We are living in both peril times and exciting times for the born-again Christian that is awaiting the return of the Messiah. But between both, we also should have the same cry as did the Prophet Habakkuk that was praying for the Lord to show Himself in power once more. A revival speaks of things that were alive but are dying out and need to be brought back to life. We need a fresh outpouring of God’s live-giving Spirit on His people more than ever before saints. We need a worlod wide revival to bring conviction of sin, produce earnest desires for more of Christ and His Word, a boldness in witness, desire for purity of life, lots of conversions, joyful worship, and a renewed commitment to missions before His soon return.
The greatest revivals in history have happened when the church has been declining and godly people have cried out, “Lord, we need to be stirred up in our faith once more especially now as we know there is no other hope apart for You Lord! Come by your Spirit and quicken us again, starting from our homes!”
But a revival is not about us. It’s not about building bigger buildings; it is not about the four walls of a building at all. It is not about having louder and more dynamic services with special effects. When you are filled with the Spirit and God revives you, you start to see people as God sees people – as sheep without a shepherd – and it moves you to help them. It awakens us also to a fresh vision of our own spiritual state under the magnifying glass of the Holy Spirit. It draws us straight to the mercy of God and need to change under the strong conviction of the Holy Spirit.
There is the greatest harvest of souls about to come into the kingdom and Jesus tells us that the fields are ripe unto harvest, but the laborers are still few. When you feel for people and weep for their souls, when you go out of your comfort zone and you sacrifice and you stretch, that’s when God begins to quicken you and work in your life. See God is looking for not just anointed people, but people that will bear the fruit of His Spirit. Those that will move in Charity, love, joy, peace, suffers long, envies not, loves not self, those that are not puffed up, meek, goodness and faith. See He’s looking for someone who will say, “Revive me, not for myself, but that I might become a not just a harvester of souls but will be transformed into Your image Lord.”
It is said that Smith Wigglesworth prophesied: “Australia you have been chosen by God for a great move of the Holy Spirit. This move of God will be the greatest move of God ever known in mankind’s history and will start towards the end of the 20th century and move into the 21st century. This move of God will start a great revival in Australia, spread throughout the whole world and usher in the second coming of Jesus. This will be the final revival before the coming of the Lord.”
Then he prophesied, “After that, after the third wave,” he started sobbing. “I see the last day revival that’s going to usher in the precious fruit of the earth. It will be the greatest revival this world has ever seen! It’s going to be a wave of the gifts of the Spirit. The ministry gifts will be flowing on this planet earth. I see hospitals being emptied out, and they will bring the sick to the churches where they allow the Holy Ghost to move.”
Derek Prince: “Derek Prince, prophesying in 1975 (The year I was born), declared that Australia and New Zealand would be used by God at the turn of the 21st century to lead one of the greatest Christian revivals that would spread throughout the whole world, ushering in the triumphant return of the King of kings and Lord of lords to Jerusalem, Israel.”
So, I see the birthing of this starting in our hearts and personal times of prayer crying out for the Lord to visit us powerfully. Therefore, ask yourself this question today: “Where am I serving? Where am I working for Jesus? Do I need revival in my life? Do I need to be transformed into His image”. If the answer is yes, then you are on the right track and this fasting will help you pursue God like never before.

TODAY'S REVIVAL STORY
1970 – February: Wilmore, Kentucky, North America (Asbury College)
Now many of you may have seen the current revival taken place at the Asbury College in Kentucky. Since the 8th of February 2023 classes were cancelled and the meetings have been taking place every day since and many from all over the world tuning in to what God is doing in the USA.
What a lot of people do not know is that 50 years earlier a similar move of the Holy Spirit took place amongst the college students. Yes, a revival broke out in Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky, on Tuesday, February 3, 1970. The regular morning chapel commencing at 10 o’clock saw God move on the students in such a way that many came weeping to the front to kneel in repentance, others gave testimonies including confession of sin, and all this was mixed with spontaneous singing. Lectures were cancelled for the day as the auditorium filled with over 1,000 people. Few left for meals. By midnight over 500 remained praying and worshipping. Several hundred committed their lives to Christ that day. By 6 am next morning 75 students were still praying in the hall, and through the Wednesday it filled again as all lectures were again cancelled for the day. The time was filled with praying, singing, confessions and testimonies.
EXTRAORDINARY PRAYER:
As with every genuine revival, the one at Asbury College was initiated with fervent intercession by a small number of people. This group committed themselves daily to devotions, sharing with others about what God was showing them during their devotional times, meeting once a week in a small group, as well as holding “all-night” prayer meetings.
TESTIMONIES CHANGED LIFES:
Several students gave inspiring testimonies about how God was working in their lives. One stood and said:
“I’m not believing that I’m standing here telling you what God has done for me. I’ve wasted my time in college up to now, but Christ has met me and I’m different. Last night the Holy Spirit flooded in and filled my life. Now, for the first time ever, I am excited about being a Christian! I wouldn’t want to go back to the emptiness of yesterday for anything.”
Other students rose and confessed sins and gave similar testimonies.
Dr. Clarence Hunter then opened the altar for anyone who wanted to come and pray. Immediately hundreds of students rushed to the front, kneeling at the altar four to five deep. Spontaneous singing broke out. The presence of the Lord was so real that all other interests seemed unimportant.
REVIVAL CAME DOWN:
Throughout the auditorium, students knelt, not only at the altar, but at their seats, in the aisles, and anywhere they could, to confess their sins and get their hearts right with God. Several hundred students gave their lives to Christ that day. At the time the chapel service was to end, the bell sounded for students to go to their classes, but everyone ignored it. Academic Dean Custer Reynolds then approached the microphone and said that classes were cancelled.
Many students were lined up, intending to testify of how God was working in their lives. Many were overcome by their emotions, and with tear-filled confessions, they acknowledged sins they had committed against others that were present, and they publicly asked for forgiveness. Reconciliation began to take place between those who previously had been at odds. Students continued to publicly pray, sing, and give testimonies, with some students even singing their testimony. Often students would miss meals and go without sleep because they were more interested in being in the presence of God than they were in anything else.
As they continued in prayer that week many students felt called to share what was happening with other colleges and churches. Invitations were coming from around the country as news of the revival spread. So, teams went out from the next weekend to tell the story and give their testimonies. Almost half the student body of 1000 was involved in the teams witnessing about the revival. In the first week after the revival began teams of students visited 16 states by invitation and saw several thousand conversions through their witnessing.
After six weeks over 1,000 teams had gone from the college to witness, some of these into Latin America with finance provided by the home churches of the students. In addition, the neighbouring Theological Seminary sent out several hundred teams of their students who had also been caught up in this revival.
Those remaining at the college prayed for the teams and gladly heard their reports on their return. The Holy Spirit did similar things wherever they went. So that revival spread. The college remained a centre of the revival with meetings continuing at night and weekends there along with spontaneous prayer groups meeting every day. Hundreds of people kept coming to the college to see this revival and participate in it. They took reports and their own testimonies of changed lives back to their churches or colleges so sharing in the spread of the revival.
THE MANIFEST PRESENCE OF GOD:
Referring to the presence of God, students and faculty described it with these words:
1. “The power of God was so present and so real, that time itself seemed to collapse. It was almost as if reality…, we were in a suspended state of reality, and people could sit, hour upon hour and it seemed like only minutes or seconds.”
2. The presence of God was “thick,” it was “heavy”.
3. “… a kind of an aura, kind of a glow about the chapel.”
4. It was like a “warmth around the heart.”
5. “There was a sense of the Divine presence that one doesn’t have often in this life, and when you do have it, you never quite get over it.”
6. Just coming onto the campus, some people indicated they were overcome with conviction power.
DRIVING OTHERS TO SEEK MORE OF GOD:
Across the street, at the Asbury Seminary, the 450 students learned about what was taking place at the college, and desiring the same for themselves, conducted an all-night prayer meeting. On Thursday morning, during their regular chapel service, the exact same thing happened to them as what took place in Hughes Auditorium with the Asbury College students—conviction of sin followed by public repentance, spontaneous singing, testimonies, and prayer. Over the weekend the seminary phase of the revival merged with the college. Many emphasized that there wasn’t a single person who was directly providing leadership to the flow of what was transpiring. Some also pointed out that even though there was no schedule of events and no one officially in charge, there was no disorder. Often phone calls or messages were received asking for prayer for loved ones who needed salvation, healing, or some other urgent needs. Someone would announce the prayer need, and everyone else would begin praying for that one person and their need.
By evening, those off-campus came to see, with some reporting they were overcome with conviction of sin as they came on campus. During the daytime participation at the auditorium swelled to capacity. During the late night and early morning, the numbers shrank to about 200.
Major American newspapers and television crews, in addition to Christian news media, arrived to report on the revival. People from across America and other parts of the world were aware that revival had come to Asbury.
THE REVIVAL SPREADS THROUGH STUDENTS:
As invitations came in from other college campuses, churches, and schools for Asbury students to come to their location and testify as to what was taking place, teams of students would make visits there and share about the revival—with the exact same thing taking place, just like what was experienced on the campus of Asbury College. Some of these teams even travelled as far away as South America.
Every Saturday for the next several months hundreds of cars filled with Asbury students would travel to churches whose pastors asked them to share about the revival. The order of those services was set aside, and almost the exact thing happened in these churches as what happened at Hughes Auditorium on the campus of Asbury College.
SOUTH MERIDIAN CHURCH OF GOD:
A remarkable revival broke out at the Anderson, Indiana, South Meridian Church of God following a visit from a team of students from Asbury. That revival was conducted every night for 50 consecutive days (Feb. 22-April 12, 1970). The church was not able to hold the 2,500 people that gathered each night, so the services were moved to a local high school.
By the end of May 1970, approximately 2,000 witnessing teams of students had gone out from Asbury College and Seminary. One half of the 1,000-member student body was a part of these witnessing teams. Thousands of conversions were experienced because of these team’s witness.
By the summer of 1970, there were 130 colleges, seminaries, and Bible schools that had been impacted by the Asbury students with their “revival outreach” trips.
Decades later, many students who were attending college during 1970 and experienced that revival report that the revival made a lasting impact on them and set a positive direction for the rest of their lives. There were bold displays of restitution coupled with a bold desire to tell others of what God had done in their lives. Emotions ranged from heart-wrenching contrition to otherworldly calm.
Revival also spread among the hippie dropouts in the early seventies. Thousands were converted in mass rallies on the beaches and in halls. They developed their own Jesus People magazines, music and evangelism.
A senior student, Jerry’s testimony: “I was so very blessed to have been there in Hughes Auditorium for the Revival in 1970. I was a senior, sitting just about in the middle of the centre section right in front of the platform. Dr. Kinlaw. who was our college president at that time was absolutely correct — there was nor preacher — this move of God was all about personal confrontation with sin in our lives as the Holy Spirit opened our eyes, with confession before our brothers and sisters as the Holy Spirit broke down the walls of pride and self, and was about “letting go and letting God” release us from our burden of guilt and shame and replace that burden with sweet peace and joy and Holy love. To this day that revival experience has been the most moving and most durable experience I have ever had with God. I cannot hear about, think about, or talk about that Revival without leaking tears all over again, for Heaven came down and Glory filled my soul. I wish you all could have been there with me to hear Jesus speak in the words of my fellow students, and to bask in the Presence of the Holy Spirit. His Grace and Mercy are almost impossible to describe, but I can tell you this — He changed my life! Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow! You know … nothing is impossible with God.”
He is doing it again there, and He can do it in your life right where you live precious saints! Are you praying and joining these fasts with an expectation that the greatest Endtime repentance revival is going to happen?
So today the rest of the nations are in desperate need for repentance revival for we know the Lord is coming back soon. I believe revival is coming in such a powerful way and once it sparks it will spread to all those that hunger and thirst precious saint’s hallelujah! So do not get off the repentance revival train that is moving full steam ahead until the Lord comes in a glorious way!
PRAYERS FOR TODAY'S FASTING PROGRAM
Let us pray saints:
1. Lord, please let your fire of revival fall upon every hungry heart that is reading this program today in Jesus Mighty Name!
2. Lord let your Holy Spirit fire fall upon each person's home today in Jesus Mighty Name!
3. Lord, we ask through the name of Your Son Jesus that you destroy every work of the devil delaying the fire of repentance revival coming to our lives in Jesus mighty name!
4. Lord may every evil agent of darkness that were sent to manipulate and destroy the church and that of your remnant be exposed and rendered powerless in Jesus mighty name!
5. Lord, arrest our hearts, so we may be fully yourself today in Jesus Mighty Name!
6. Lord, we bind every spirit causing anyone to be lukewarm, weak or in slumber rendered powerless and ask you to come out of our lives in Jesus Might Name!
7. Lord just as you send revival in today's testimony, may it stir within the hearts first of those He is calling and those He is yet to touch in these End-times in Jesus Mighty Name!
8. Lord, let us know you more and seek the higher calling within our lives in Jesus Mighty Name.
9. Lord help us to in unity with our family, that we may serve You together in Jesus Mighty Name!
10. Lord we ask through the name of Your Son Jesus that you destroy every work of the devil delaying the fire of repentance revival coming to our lives in Jesus mighty name!
11. Pray that God will reveal His requirements for genuine revival in your life, family, church, community, and nation. Ask God to start that revival in your own heart and life that repentance revival will flow.
12. Ask God what He wants you to do today to apply what He has revealed to you and run with it. What actions will you take after this fasting day?
13. Pray for an alertness and an awakening from spiritual slumber, do that you may be ablaze. Ask the Lord to awaken the remnant body of Christ and draw more saints into the Body of Christ.
14. Declare readiness over God’s people for radical change that will come from a powerful move of God!
15. Decree that lives are being characterised by an increasing hunger for a new move of God and experience Your healing power in Jesus mighty Name!
16. Ask God to do a fresh work within our heart this weekend, that just as you moved in Asbury College, that you will start with us today and do great things in Jesus Mighty Name!
17. May revival come to each of our homes and change family members to be on fire for God in Jesus Mighty Name!
18. Lord we pray for Pastor Robert’s Meetings scheduled in 2023 starting again in South Africa in March, may You come and visit Your people within those respected nations as You have promised in Jesus Mighty name!
19. Any principality in the heavenlies delaying your progress and Gods messengers be removed in Jesus mighty name!
21. Any agent of satanic delay in my (office, home, school, place of work, city, and nation), withholding my promotion/graduation, revival may they be completely removed and rendered powerless in the mighty name of Jesus!
22. Father we ask that you please send angelic reinforcements from the 3rd heavens to release our blessings and arrest all demonic hinderances in the 2nd heavens, in the mighty name of Jesus!
23. Father for my shame, troubles, and delay, I shall receive double honour, in the mighty name of Jesus!
24. I refuse to give up until my testimony gives birth to many other testimonies and revival comes to my home, church, city, and nation, in the mighty name of Jesus!
25. Lord let your Holy Spirit fire fall upon each person's home today to stir revival in the hearts of Your remnant in Jesus Mighty Name!
