URGENT PRAYER FOR PEACE AND FREEDOM TO THE PEOPLE IN IRAN
Isaiah 61:1-6 “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the broken hearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, 3 To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
Heavenly Father in the Mighty Name of Jesus,
You are the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and we come boldly before Your mercy seat this very day through the precious blood of Your Son Jesus Christ.
Thankyou Father for sending Your precious Son to die for us, that we could come directly to You and experience Your Rest & Your peace within our life’s. You are Jehovah Shalom the God of Peace and we cry out to you for peace within our hearts this very day.
Lord when we read and watch the news today all we see is uncertainty and distress that was foretold about in Your Word of rumours of wars, threats of terrorism and natural disasters etc happening all around the world today.
You are our sovereign God who is a mountain mover, a miracle walker, promise keeper, who brings light to this world to expose all darkness, You are the victor of impossible victories and nothing is impossible for You. You are the Lord over bush and forest fires, Lord over earthquakes, Cyclones, Tornados and tsunamis. You are the Lord over every nation and even those in turmoil or having terrorist plots against them. You are the Lord over all starving children, mourning mothers, all fleeing refugees and Lord over all prisoners tortured for their faith. Almighty God You who dotted the sky with stars and set the earth spinning like a top. You own everything and control everything. Your hand allows each mind to think and teaches each heart to beat. There is nothing You can’t do. So, we pray, even though it seems impossible, You will have Your way in Jesus Might Name!
Lord today we lift up our hands and pray for all those within the middle east, those within ravaged war-torn lands, those that are living under strict Islamic regimes like Iran, where many are oppressed by the controlling spirit of Islam and corrupt leaders. Lord we ask that You will bring a stillness to each person’s heart, that that they would desire to seek and know Your Son Jesus Christ, as their personal Lord and Saviour. The hearts of the king are in Your hands Lord and we ask that You turn their hearts of stone into hearts of flesh. That You would bring justice to those that need justice, that You will bring a peaceful existence between those within the region and across the world.
We pray for Iran specifically within this tense moment right now and pray according to (1 Timothy 2:2) for it reminds us to pray "for kings and for all those who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and honesty. Yes, Lord we pray for this today"
Lord we pray that all terrorism sleeper cells across the nations be uprooted and dispersed in Jesus mighty name! We pray for the protection of all of Iran's persecuted church at this time, that are experiencing a spiritual revival, that it will spread throughout Iran and into the whole middle east. We pray for peace and freedom in this ancient land of Iran that dates back to ancient biblical times.
Lord we know that satan has been deceiving people for thousands of years to hate on the nation of Israel and more recent for the death of the United States and the free world. But despite the enemy’s plans to deceive people we know Jesus that You are The “hope of all nations” and The “Prince of Peace” that was sent to destroy the works of satan and bring light to all peoples that are within darkness. We know our battles are won in prayer and when we pray you hear our prayers to bring peace to the hearts of men and change the impossible situations we face. You did not come to condemn the World, but that they would be saved through You. You are the catalyst that will one day create a beautiful new world filled with genuine justice, joy, and peace – a world without war (Is 9:5). A day will come when the wolf will live peacefully beside the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the young goat… and All your holy mountain will be free of anything hurtful or destructive.” (Is 11:6,9)
And to those who have already lost their loved ones through the recent tragedy of the Ukrainian Airline passenger aeroplane crash in Iran and anyone else that has died because of the cowardness of terrorism and war. For those that have been victims of human cruelty and chemical warfare, open wide your arms and enfold them all in the embrace of your compassion, healing, and everlasting life.
We pray that Iran would humble themselves to negotiations and that through the current sanctions that the US has placed upon them, that they would be forced to yield. Lord expose all the lies of this corrupt government of Iran and ultimately bring freedom to the people of Iran to worship You. We pray for a commitment to human rights and the protection of all lives within this current tension in the middle east in Jesus Mighty Name. We pray for effective international intervention to ensure justice for the people of Iran that are demanding accountability for the atrocities. We pray for humanitarian aid and rebuilding where destruction has occurred in any parts of middle east and not just Iran.
Lord continue to reduce and empty mosque attendance in Iran, so many more will reject the tyranny of the Ayotollah’s and seek the truth and freedom that is found in Christ Jesus alone.
Lord comfort the families of all the Iranians that have lost their loved ones because of demonstrations for freedom from the tyranny. You Lord do not even delight in the death of the wicked, for you know us by name and just as you struck and called Saul on the way to Damascus you will call many through dreams and visions within this hour to come to You. Yes, Lord I pray you would strike those that also that are on the path of destruction and save them before it is too late. You’ve numbered the hairs on every head, gathered every tear, so come and visit these oppressed people today to find hope in Christ Jesus alone.
Lord we pray for all the world leaders of today that you would grant them wisdom to see beyond the boundaries of race, religion, and nation and give them a heart that sees all as brothers and sisters to one another. That you Jesus will shine across all nations
Lord to those that in times past who have taken up arms in anger or revenge, or even in the cause of justice, please grant them the grace of conversion to the path of more peaceful dialogues and constructive collaboration moving forward.
Lord to all the innocent who live in the shadow of war and terror, especially the frightened children, be a shelter and strength, be their haven and hope in Jesus Mighty Name!
Lord bring an end to all violence, hatred and discord. Steady the feet and bring peace to all that may have been counselled to rush into any war or attacks. Bring justice to the downtrodden, restoration to the marginalized and abused, bring hope to the hopeless. Guide all those in positions of power, whether that power is political or physical or social and give them wisdom to use their power wisely. Give them, and all of us, the grace to admit when we are wrong and to seek forgiveness. Give us the grace to forgive.
Lord we pray for your protection of all the underground churches within Iran, that they one day would receive freedom to worship You in Jesus Might Name! Lord we pray that you would free all the arrested pastors, fellow believers, journalists and bloggers that have been thrown into prison within this regime in Jesus Mighty Name!
Lord that all those within the leadership of Iran that have been guilty of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity especially those of the recent 1,500 November rioters, lives that were killed by Iranian security forces. May each person responsible be brought to justice in Jesus Might Name!
Lord raise up a younger generation in Iran that is dissatisfied with the oppression from Islam and their current extreme leader and cry out to Jesus for deliverance and change within Iran in Jesus Mighty Name!
Lord open up the doors for more missionaries to enter this nation and in the meantime use every platform on social media, airwaves and satellite TV to stir the level of interest in the gospel in Jesus Mighty Name!
Lord this is the ancient land of where the Prophet Daniel prophesied and you delivered him from the lions den, would you also deliver every believer from this tyranny leadership in Jesus Mighty Name!
Lord just as you called Esther for such a time of hers within this ancient land of old to save the jewish people from genocide, that you would also raise up bold peaceful protesters that would dare to stand up against this tyranny government in Jesus Might Name!
Lord just as you used King Cyrus with Iran to decree the freedom of the Jewish people back to the land of Israel, you would also be their deliverer and bring them closer to you in Jesus Mighty Name!
Lord Give us peace in our time in the days and months to come, that peace which, your son Jesus Christ told us and as we have experienced in these days, of a peace which the world cannot give us Lord.
Father, You have called us to be the lights in the world, reflecting the glory and light of Christ and we pray that we may become Your reflection, so that men may see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven.
